The crisp feeling of fall is in the air. It’s that time of the year when we begin to adjust our wardrobe for the cooler weather ahead. Adding on the layers and textures is always my favorite part of the season.
However, there’s nothing quite like getting your home dressed up too. After all, we’ll be spending more time inside so why not have your home look its best!
Styling The Interior
Transitioning our home to reflect the new season can be quite simple. You don’t have to go out and buy everything new. Work with the key pieces that you already have and incorporate hints of fall throughout the home. Accents in autumnal tones rich in color and texture can set the mood effortlessly. Utilizing pops of color in decor such as vases, trays, and books direct your eye. I love to use throws and pillows to set the tone for any story I’m trying to tell. They soften and enrich your rooms palette.
Bringing The Outdoors In
With all the colors changing outside, it’s hard not to be inspired. Who doesn’t love seeing the leaves change and the bare branches exposed? A great way to capture that look is by bringing the outdoors in! Branches are a great way to decorate your space. Put them in a vase at the center of your console or have them be the focal point of your entrance. It’s a simple look that can really act as a statement piece. Using nature as art gives your home a warm, organic feel.
Lighting
Decorative accessories are a key component when styling any space. However, lighting is a big factor to help enhance the beauty of what’s been put together. Ambient lighting is important for creating the perfect mood for warmth and coziness. Not to mention that lighting can improve your mood and energy levels! If you have a favorite spot in your home, consider adjusting the lighting so you can enjoy it as the daylight shortens.
Fragrance
Creating the fall atmosphere in your home isn’t just all about the look, it’s also about the things you cannot see! Candles and diffusers create a relaxing atmosphere and help change the mood with their scent. Place diffusers in entryways and kitchens to welcome you and your guests into your home. If you haven’t found your favorite signature scent, you can try Penrose or Barr-Co in our showroom. Choose one that makes you feel relaxed and happy!
