Bringing the Outdoors, in
One of our preferred ways to keep a space organic and fresh is to decorate with indoor plants. It makes even the rainiest days here in Portland seem brighter and joyful. We know that it can be intimidating to decide what plants work best for you but we are here to help. Paired with our favorite modern pieces, below is our top indoor plants to decorate with.
We picked the Pathos plant for best low maintenance because they are known for being one of the easiest houseplants to care for. We are also a fan of the heart-shaped leaves and the cascading vines. This plant looks great on Accent Table 7217.
Not to be confused with ZZ Top, the ZZ plant fairs amazingly in low light. It’s great for an apartment with lots of shade or during the dark and rainy months in Portland. We placed our ZZ plant in Vase 1621.
Pilea peperomioides is the perfect solution if you have pets but still want to decorate your house with plants. It is not only non-toxic but also has a fun lily-pad look to it.. Our Pilea peperomioides sits nicely atop Accent Table 5341.
The snake plant is perfect for small spaces because it grows straight up. Another benefit of snake plants are for their supposed purification qualities too. We pair this snake plant with Vase 5351.
The rubber plant fairs well in medium light. One thing to be aware of with rubber plants is that they can grow quite large so if you run low on space, just keep it in a smaller pot like we did with Vase 1707.
Lastly, The parlor palm. Living in Portland means we can go days and days without sunshine and fresh air. Having a tropical indoor plant, like the parlor palm, helps purify the air and bring some of that joyful outdoor vibes, indoors. It’s also pet-friendly! We keep ours next to us while we work from home on Desk 939.
